Completed DIY

*Monogram: My dad designed both monograms in Corel Draw. There is a not yet married monogram for the invitations and a married monogram for the aisle runner, programs, menus, etc
**STD: We were going to do a STD through Vistaprint but then our amazing videographer offered to do a save the date video (see link left). We sent out an email in newsletter format with the STD video and a link to our wedding website. I've tried to post a screen shot but it doesn't load. If you'd like to see a set up, page me on the Chicago board (ladybug7485)
**Aisle Runner: Originally I wasn't going to do this but I really wanted to paint our monogram on it so I decided on it. I think it turned out really well!

I got this idea from a fellow knottie (drdifabio) who posted this on the Oct2010 board. I'm still working on perfecting mine but I used the same instructions she did. Here are some websites to reference

Like Danielle I mostly just referenced the etsy seller to see how the letters were made and went from there. I also initiatially used 12 gauge floral wire for my hanger but I will be checking back to see if there is a larger wire that I can manipulate because my dress is so heavy!
Update: I remade the hanger with a wooden hanger from BB&B so that it would hold my dress. I also think it looks "cleaner". I just made the lettering the same way and then held the wire up to the hanger to eye about where to cut it. Then I drilled small holes in the sides of the hangers and used some hot glue and stuck the ends in the holes.
I've made these for multiple bridal showers for my friends (which is where the one above is from, and they've been a big hit!

In progress DIY
**Invitations: Originally I wanted to do pocketfolds but then I found pochettes which are nice because you don't need an outside envelope, so it's saving money. I think I'll be purchasing them through envelopemall.com. I think I want to do a metallic blue pochette with a gold vellum card in the inside with the printing. The great thing is that my parents own a business so they have a industrial printer that we can use to print them all ourselves!I'll post pics as I start making mockups!

**Placecards: I found this pic from a fellow knottie Januarybride and absolutly love it. Thank God her blog has details about how to make it. So excited to get started on this one! Januarybride website: http://januarybride.googlepages.com/diy
